With the visual update of the Core 10 Office applications a cohesive design language was created to expand throughout the Microsoft ecosystem. Using these guidelines, I was tasked to redesign other key Office applications and brand new ones as well.
While the project was first started to redesign and evolve the existing Office apps to the Fluent design style, new applications are constantly being created at Microsoft that are needing icons. Outlook Calendar previously did not have a brand icon and Microsoft Editor is a brand new app.
The main challenge in designing these Brand icons was to make sure they align to the guidelines and feel like a cohesive set as they expanded from the original ten.
